Noah’s Ark: Safer than the Titanic.
The Titanic was considered a pinnacle of naval architecture and technological achievement, and was thought by The Shipbuilder magazine to be "practically unsinkable" yet it sank!!! BUT NOAH built an ARK with ordinary wood, it could not sink! Jesus Christ is like NOAH'S ARK. The Bible says, “The name of the LORD is a strong (fortified) tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.'' Proverb 18:10.
Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early morning of 15th April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK, to New York City, US. The sinking resulted in the deaths of more than 1,500 passengers and crew, making it one of the deadliest commercial peacetime maritime disasters in modern history. The Titanic, the largest ship afloat at the time it entered service, was the second of three Olympic class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line, and was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast with Thomas Andrews as her naval architect. Andrews was among those who died in the sinking. On her maiden voyage, she carried 2,224 passengers and crew. In Titanic, everyone was eager to enter; people paid so much to get the best seat.
Noah's Ark was the vessel by which God spared Noah, his family, and a remnant of all the world's animals from the flood. According to Genesis 6, God gave Noah instructions for the building of the ark. After building the ARK, God told Noah, “Come into the ark, you with all your household, for you [alone] I have seen as righteous (doing what is right) before Me in this generation” (Genesis 7).The story goes on to describe the ark being afloat throughout the flood and subsequent receding of the waters before it came to rest on the Mountains of Ararat, (Genesis 8:4). In the Ark, they were only 8 people, (Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives, Genesis 8:18). While millions perished!
When Noah received the mandate from God to build the Ark, though the Bible does not say anything about the people that helped him or the carpenters, it seems reasonable that Noah employed a large group of people to build the Ark. Some of them supplied all the building materials needed for the work. I am sure they were paid! The carpenters would be working, making jokes; calling Noah names and on completion, they collected their wages! He preached to his people. They mocked him. They argued! They thought Noah was insane. They refused to go into the Saving Ark! Similarly, so many people go to church because of miracles; but they do not need the miracle WORKER! To some, it is because of the preacher; maybe, he preaches to suit their lifestyle. Some go because it is a family church! Some go because of their business friends.
Like the sinking titanic, so many places of worship have become places of fun! Some churches have become club houses where immorality is promoted! God is no longer the center. Money, politics and evil trades have taken over! People are no longer going to church for Jesus Christ! “By their fruits, you shall know them...” (Matthew 7:15-20).
It’s very important for us to understand the spiritual meaning of the Ark. Some of the points of comparison are:
1. God took the initiative in sparing Noah and his family. “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still Sinners Christ died for us." Rom. 5:8.
2. There was a divine and human side to the Ark as Christ is both human and divine.
3. There was only one, door (WAY) to enter into the Ark as there is only one way to God and that is through Christ Jesus. "I am the gate for the sheep..." Jn. 10:7. See also Acts 4:12. John 14:6.
4. There was great security for the passengers of the Ark. Likewise; if we are in Christ we are secured. See Rom.8:31.
Beloved, have you boarded any ship? Noah’s Ark (JESUS CHRIST) or the Titanic (Satanic)? Do not forget, “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” Proverbs 14:12.
